Tugenhold, Jacob
(1794-1871)
   Polish author. He was born near Krakow. He founded a modern lewish school in Warsaw, which alienated Orthodox lews. He served as vice-censor of Hebrew books, and from 1856 to 1863 was head of the government rabbinical seminary in Warsaw.
